November 10 (Stated Meeting): Thanksgiving dinner at Lodge 12. The 1998-99 Golden Trowel award will be presented. We will continue to accept contributions of non-perishable food items for the Austin 12 Food Drive.
November 21 (Saturday): Volunteers from Lodge 12 will assist at the Capital Area Food Bank from 9 AM to 12 noon to help prepare Thanksgiving food packages.
December 8 (Stated Meeting): State Representative Sheri Greenberg has tentatively agreed to speak to the lodge that night on the major issues facing Texas. Since this will be only 3 weeks prior to the start of the Legislative Session, this should be a wonderful opportunity to learn about the important issues facing Texas, and to ask questions too.
January 12 (Stated Meeting): We hope to see you at the first meeting of the last year of the 1990s. Brother Buck Hill will present a talk on Brother Edward Burleson, the 2nd W.M. of Austin 12, who was elected Vice-President of the Republic of Texas while serving as W.M.
January 30: Austin 12 visits the Austin Ice Bats! Join us as we get together to cheer on Austin's only professional sports team! The Ice Bats will play the Central Texas Stampede in a game starting at 7:30 PM. The tickets, which would normally cost $10, will be available for only $9. Friends and family are invited to attend. Place your order with the Secretary as soon as possible so we will know how many will join us that night.
